Accessibility Policy

The State-Owned Company for the Management of Innovation and Tourism Technologies (SEGITTUR) strives to make its website accessible to all citizens, including people with physical or cognitive disabilities, and regardless of the technological devices used to access the information.

In its commitment to achieving these objectives, the design of SEGITTUR’s website has been carried out following, as far as possible, the double-A (AA) level of the UNE 139803:2012 standard — Accessibility Requirements for Web Content.

Law 56/2007, of December 28, on Measures to Promote the Information Society, states that public administrations must take the necessary measures to ensure that the information available on their respective websites is accessible, in accordance with the accessibility criteria established in Royal Decree 1494/2007, of November 12 (Regulation on the basic conditions for the access of persons with disabilities to technologies, products, and services related to the information society and social media).

This Royal Decree specifies the level of accessibility applicable to public administration websites, making it mandatory, as a minimum, to comply with priorities 1 and 2 of the aforementioned UNE standard.

The portal has been developed using XHTML and style sheets, complying, as far as possible, with XHTML 1.0 and CSS2 validations set by the W3C.

Measures taken to ensure accessibility:

  • Text size: The fonts used have relative dimensions so that users can control their size from their browser.
  • Design, navigation, and interactivity: Efforts have been made to ensure consistent navigation throughout the website, following the same structural patterns on all pages.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: A series of keyboard shortcuts have been set up for quick access to menu options and links found in the page footer. These shortcuts vary depending on the browser used:
    • With Internet Explorer, press Alt, the shortcut key, and then Enter.
    • With Mozilla and Netscape, press Alt and the corresponding shortcut key.
    • With Firefox on PC, press Alt + Shift and the shortcut key.
    • With Opera on PC, press Shift + Esc and the shortcut key.
    • With Safari on Mac, press Control and the shortcut key.

Quick keyboard access:

  • Key 0: Site Accessibility.
  • Key 1: About Us.
  • Key 2: Projects.
  • Key 3: Knowledge Areas.
  • Key 4: Press Room.
  • Key 5: Contact.
  • Key 6: Sitemap.

Website Accessibility Exceptions

As mentioned earlier, the pages have been developed in compliance with W3C validation standards. However, on some pages, due to the use of content management tools, certain elements may occasionally cause minor validation issues.

For introductory headline texts, the sIFR technique has been used to enable specific fonts.

The web forms currently in use are client-side validated. Work is underway to implement server-side validation.
