This solution is structured around the merger of two key strategies to sustainably and responsibly manage heritage. The first and fundamental strategy is preventive conservation. This strategy assesses, plans and manages conservation to reduce interventions on buildings insofar as possible, maintaining constant control over conservation conditions. The second strategy is digitalisation, understood as all digital, inventory, information management and analysis processes that help to effectively implement the previous strategy.

Digital prevention conservation plans are modular products that integrate with one another, providing information in a multidirectional way via a dashboard with a clear orientation as regards the usability of the product.

The modules are as follows:

• Dashboard: integrates the different modules, with a graphic representation of the heritage element, as well as an agenda with the next inspections to be performed, scheduled accordingly.
• Inventory module: This module is supported by a geographic information system, in such a way that the element is broken down into different units and acronymised using a unique identifier. This identifier is then used to connect it to the other modules that make up the solution. The elements are assessed based on their state of preservation.
• Risk management module: identifies risks and how they change as the implementation of the PCP develops.
• Prevention conservation module: CMMS for heritage, establishing the periodic actions necessary for conservation. It also serves as the database used to record the actions performed over time.
• Economic module: helps to plan the economic management of the PCP.

An appropriate strategy for smart heritage management will improve the conservation of cultural assets and increase their durability. Moreover, the preventive nature of the actions will optimise the economic return on the investments made.
